Terms

What you may do with this site and its materials, and what we do not promise about them.

Pre-launch draft: written, not reviewed by a lawyer.

What this covers

These terms cover the site granularity.tech — its pages, prose, examples and downloads. They do not cover the Granularity software itself: that is governed by its own licence, explained on Licensing.

Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

What you may do with the materials

WhatTerms
Code examples on this siteCC0 1.0 — public domain. Copy, modify and ship them, with no attribution and no conditions.
Documentation proseCC BY 4.0 — reuse and translate with a credit and a link.
Blog articlesCC BY-NC 4.0 — non-commercial reuse with a credit. Quoting is always fine.
Logo, wordmark and brand assetsAll rights reserved. Rules on Brand.
Fonts and iconsUnder their own owners’ licences, listed on Compliance.
The Granularity library itselfIts own licence — see Licensing.

The first row exists for a practical reason. Without it, copying an example would formally inherit the library’s licence together with its ethical use clause. That is obviously not what an example is for, so it is written down instead of assumed.

What we do not promise

The site and its materials are provided as is. We do not warrant that the documentation is complete or free of error, that an example will work in your environment, or that the site will be available at any given moment.

Documentation describes software that changes. A page can be out of date; every page shows when it was last reviewed, and that date is there to be used.

Nothing on this site is legal advice — including the pages that discuss licensing. They explain our position accurately, and they are not a substitute for your own counsel.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the site or its materials.

Links to other sites

The site links to GitHub, npm, the documentation of other projects and other third-party resources. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their terms or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

Acceptable use

Use the site normally. Do not attempt to disrupt it, do not use it to distribute malware, and do not misrepresent yourself as affiliated with the project.

Automated access is fine within reason: crawling for search indexes and for AI training is allowed subject to robots.txt, and mirroring the documentation is permitted under the CC BY terms above. Requests at a rate that degrades the service for others are not.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the bottom of the page says which version is in force; material changes are described on the page rather than applied quietly.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of the author’s place of residence. Questions: legal@granularity.tech.

This version is in force from: 2026-08-31
